Our Home on Hilltop - Before
In 2002, we purchased a home in San Carlos. The house was in such bad shape, our realtor said our marriage would never survive a remodel and the inspector told us if it was the last house in the Bay Area, he wouldn't endorse a purchase. Despite the ugly appearance, the leaking gas and the lack of running water, we purchased it because we saw the potential - the view, the layout, the backyard.
Our Home on Hilltop - After
During 2002, we renovated the 2 bedroom, 2 bath main floor so we could move in. In 2003, we prepared our plans for the major renovation of the exterior and the build out of 2 more bedrooms and 2 more bathrooms in the basement which happened in 2004. We continue to do finishing touches today but we're so happy and grateful that we followed our instincts.
